The bison is a fierce and powerful op­ponent indigenous to Canada.

Formed as a Tactical Transport unit at St Hubert (Mon­treal), Quebec on 21 August 1967, the squadron flew Buf­falo aircraft for the Canadian Forces Mobile Command, and on 1 February 1968 was integrated into the Canadian Armed Forces.

Brief Chronology: Formed at St Hubert, Que. 21 Aug 67. Integrated into CAF 1 Feb 68.

Nickname: “Bison”
