Subject: Air Commodore L.J. Birchall Award | Issue: The RMC Foundation has approached the RCAF Association to determine to what extent the RCAF Association may wish to get involved in the process of presenting the Air Commodore L.J. Birchall Leadership Award, each year.
Subject: French Legion of Honour Nomination Deadline Extended | Issue: In 2014, the Embassy of France awarded the Légion d’honneur to more than 600 Canadian Veterans who served in the campaign to liberate France. I am pleased to inform you that the Government of France has extended the nomination deadline for the Légion d’honneur to July 31, 2015. The Embassy of France is looking for candidates who took part in the battles and military operations surrounding the landings in Normandy and Provence during the liberation of France mainly between June 6 and August 31, 1944. The Department of Veterans Affairs would like to invite you to participate in the nomination of candidates for this prestigious decoration. Subject: Development of a Mobile Version of the RCAF Association e-Newsletter | Issue: Mobile technology continues to evolve; more and more internet queries and connections are being made using mobile devices, rather than home (desktop and laptop) devices, meaning our newsletter should also be compatible and user-friendly for those who wish to access it from their cellular phones, iPads, and other tablets
Subject: 784 Wing Secession from the RCAF Association | Issue: Wing members have received correspondence from their Wing President, preparing them for a vote on a proposal to secede from the national association | Details: the Group President, Mr. Robert Clarke, the Immediate Past Group President Mr. R.J. Roe and the former National President, Mr. John Melbourne are exploring the issue to learn more about the state of affairs in 784 Wing. A 784 Wing vote is scheduled for Sunday 31 May 2015. Mr. R.J. Roe and Mr. John Melbourne have indicated they plan to attend the 784 Wing meeting.
