Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (CNCA)

The Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (CNCA) achieved Royal Assent in June 2009. It was formally declared in force on 17 October 2011. Federally-registered associations like the Air Force Association of Canada will have three years to seek a “Letter of Continuance”, or be dissolved. Consequently, the Air Force Association of Canada board of directors (National Executive Council) is working toward submission of a request for continuance, and as part of the process the directors and officers are identifying new approaches and ideas for member consideration that are in keeping with the exigencies of the new Act, and will be included in our constitution and by-laws, as we go forward. The documents found here are provided for the purposes of keeping our members informed of steps taken in this important process. Should you have any questions regarding these or other documents pertaining to the new Act, please consult with the association’s executive director.
