The Distinguished Service Cross

Awarded to Naval and Marine Officers, Commanders or below, including Warrant Officers (or equivalent), for meritorious or distinguished services before the enemy. Members of the Air Force and Army serving with the fleet were also eligible.

Bars:For additional acts of gallantry. (Convex silver bar with a crown).
Obverse: Royal Cypher surmounted by a Crown within a circle.
Description: Plain silver cross pattee, convexed, 1 9/16" across.
Reverse: Plain, with the year of the award engraved on the lower arm.
Mounting: Small ring at top through which a large (3/4") ring is attached.

Ribbon: 1 3/8 inches; Navy Blue - White - Navy Blue in equal widths.
