T-33 Ejection Seat Upgrade Project team, CFB Cold Lake, AB, in recognition of commendable achievement
by the engineering and technical capabilities and individual professionalism inherent in the Aerospace
EngineeringTest Establishment team resident at this base. This team, augmented by personnel from Trenton,
Greenwood, Comox, and the Air Maintenance Sqn at Cold Lake, tackled the vexing problem of seat-occupant
interference evident following ejection from T-bird and Tutor aircraft.Within a seven month period of test and
evaluation of their proposed seat modification, the solution was arrived at, approved and implemented, facilitating
the return to service of the entire CF T-bird fleet on 18 May 2000. The efforts of this team exemplify the outstanding
contributions made to military aviation by highly skilled, motivated engineers, technicians and flight test personnel.
This trophy is presented in recognition of the innovation and dedication displayed by team members in their
pursuit of aviation safety and operational effectiveness.
