Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is Patron to the Royal Canadian Air Force Association and its subsidiary, the Royal Canadian Air Force Association Trust Fund
Dear Patron’s Organisations,
It’s almost 10 months since The Patron’s Lunch event on The Mall in honour of Her Majesty The Queen. I know last year’s celebrations have provided many with lifelong memories. Memories forged not just on The Mall, among the guests and volunteers who attended the celebrations, but across communities up and down the nation that celebrated this historic occasion. My fellow Trustees and I, were delighted with the recognition and success of this unique event. To measure the value of such a special occasion, we commissioned an independent report which reflects on the success of the event and the value of Royal patronage. I am pleased to attach a copy of the report and wish to convey my thanks to all charities that participated in the research. I am sure you will find it an interesting read and I hope that it will provide helpful insights. The Patron’s Fund has achieved its objectives of disbursing – within 12 months of the event – the funds raised to the organisations which applied for a gift. We have now begun the closure process. Our accounts and final report is being submitted to the Charity Commission shortly, I’d encourage you all to read it. May I take this final opportunity to thank you, both for your support in celebrating this event and for all the important work that you do.
The Patron’s Lunch Report
With best wishes,
Sir Stuart Etherington, Chair, Board of Trustees of The Patron’s Fund
